Imrama is a type of Celtic story where the hero sets out on a sacred journey of the soul. They set off from shore toward an unknown destination, with only their spirit guiding the way. The rewards for their bravery and surrender are beyond anything they could have imagined.

It’s a philosophy that underpins my coaching, inspires my speaking and is threaded through my filmmaking.

Imrama is how I live my life. Dip into the evolving list of the inspirations I’m finding to help guide me.

Follow my substack, where I write letters from my Imrama to yours - complete with prompts and exercises to help you dive deeper.

Inspiration

My list is always evolving, but here are a few things which are inspiring me now:

Andrea Gibson - Poet, Spoken Word Artist, All-around bad-a** at the art of living. Do yourself a favour: buy their book ‘You should be lightning’, sign up for their newsletter, and listen to their beautiful deep thoughts on social media.

Joseph Campbell - the OG man of myth. What I wouldn’t give to have been in a lecture taught by him. He’s one of my dinner party dream guests! I invite you to visit his YouTube channel and sample his wisdom beyond time.

The Center for Action and Contemplation - Father Richard Rohr and his band of multi-faith contemplatives make such a difference in my daily life. I get their email meditation every morning, and I love it.

What would this be without a podcast recommendation - but surprise, no current affairs!

Real Life Ghost Stories - Emma is an amazing storyteller and incredibly resilient human. Listen for the chills, and admire her ability to craft a narrative.

Myths and Legends - a fun trip into world mythology. You’ll have learned things without even noticing you did it!

And I always used to make playlists, for every big story, major occasion…I love telling a story through any medium…so if you want to journey with me, please check out this ever-evolving playlist.
